What is pubrec.com?
Pubrec.com is a database search engine that displays public records from public employers in the state of Florida.
The data is collected based on Florida Statute Title 10 Chapter 119 Public Records law.
We have recent data from the following public employers:
Jackson Health System/Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami
Memorial Healthcare System, Hollywood
North Broward Hospital District, Ft. Lauderdale
Some or all of the following data is available on-line now:
Employee Wages
Accounts Payables
Vendors
Viewing Public Records comes at a cost...
The Chapter 119 law allows for Public entities to charge for supplying Public Records.
They are supposed charge for only the exact cost of the duplication.
In many cases, they attempt to impose huge fees for duplication and information systems charges.
The law does allow for additional reasonable charges, but not at the rate they charge.
For example, North Broward Hospital District wanted to charge $15,000 for the weekly rendering of
Internet Log Records. They seem to charge more for Public records they do not want the public to see.
In cases where legal action is required, those legal fees add up very quickly. In some cases, the fees
are recoverable in court.
There is also a large cost in processing the Public Records and making it avalaible on the Internet
for all to search and view.
